Tauranga Region Kindergartens, Te Putahi Kura Puhou a Rohe o Tauranga Moana, operates 20 kindergartens and a Home Based Early Childhood Education service in the
Bay of Plenty and Coromandel peninsula in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Our services range from Whitianga in the north to Murupara in the south-east.
Tauranga Region Kindergartens is an affiliate of New Zealand Kindergartens Inc (NZK).
We are a non-profit community based organisation governed by an elected Board. We are working to develop the bi-cultural relationship established by Aotearoa/New Zealand's founding document, Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
We are committed to providing exemplary Early Childhood Education including;
- employing only trained and registered teachers in regulated positions
- a warm welcoming environment for children and families/whanau
- development and learning through challenging play experiences
- individual learning programmes based on Te Whariki, the ECE curriculum
- loads of fun!
Over 1100 children between 2 and 6 years of age are enrolled in our services.
We encourage families and whanau to be active participants in the early education of their children.
All our services participate in the 20 Hours ECE scheme, enabling us to offer a free service in kindergartens to those parents 'spending' their 20 Hours ECE with us. However from 2011 as a result of the reduction of Government funding we will be asking parents to make a $2 per day donation. (This donation is tax deductible at the rate of 33%.)
